Run a Loyalty Programme, Free
Mosey · 22 September 2026 · 4 min read

Loyalty is free to run on every tier, including free. There is no programme fee, no per-member charge and no monthly minimum. Mosey takes 1% on the spend a programme rewards, up to €150.00 of commission per venue per month, and 0.4% above that.
Two ways to reward
- Spend-based. A customer spends a set amount and earns a reward — spend €100, get €10 off. Best where the ticket is high and the visits are occasional.
- Frequency-based. A customer visits a set number of times in a period and earns a reward — three visits a week, or ten in a month. Best where the ticket is small and the habit is the whole business, which is most cafés.
Pick the one that matches how your customers actually buy. A café that rewards spend is asking people to keep a running total in their heads; a restaurant that rewards frequency is asking for a visit rate its customers were never going to hit.
Visits record themselves
A visit is counted when the customer pays through Mosey. There is no card to stamp, no app for staff to open, and nothing to remember at the counter.
- Mosey Pay — an in-store payment at 1.5% counts automatically
- Order Ahead and delivery — a completed order counts automatically
- Manually — staff can add a visit for a customer who paid another way
Progress updates in real time, so a customer can see how close they are while they are still standing at your counter. That is the moment a loyalty programme actually does its job.
The data stays yours
You see who your regulars are, what they spend, how often they come and what they order. That is your customer relationship, on your side of the table, and it is what makes everything else on Mosey worth doing — a win-back message, a members-only night, a voucher aimed at the people who have not been in for a month.
Rewards that expire, and customers who are told
Give a reward a lifetime and Mosey reminds the customer seven days out and again the day before. An unredeemed reward is a customer who meant to come back and did not, and two messages recover a good share of them.
More than one venue
If you run several sites, a programme can accept visits from all of them, so a customer earning at one location keeps earning at the next. It is off by default — some chains want each location to build its own regulars, and that is a real choice rather than an oversight. Turn it on per programme when you want it.
What it costs
- 1% on the spend a loyalty programme rewards, up to €150.00 of commission per venue in a month
- 0.4% on rewarded spend beyond that point
- Nothing to create, run, pause or end a programme
- 23% VAT on Mosey's commission
There is a fair-use ceiling of 1,000 visits per venue per month. Above it your programme keeps working exactly as it did — nothing is throttled and nothing is billed automatically. We would talk to you first.
Setting it up
- Account → Features → Loyalty. A Loyalty section appears in your sidebar.
- Connect Stripe from Business Info → Account Setup. Rewards are tied to payments, so this is required.
- Choose spend or frequency, matched to how your customers actually buy.
- Set the threshold and the reward. Make the first one reachable — a reward nobody reaches teaches customers the programme is decoration.
- Give rewards an expiry so the reminders have something to remind about.
- Turn on cross-venue visits if you run more than one site and want them to pool.
- Take one real payment through Mosey Pay and watch the visit land before you tell staff about it.
What it connects to
- Mosey Pay — the till at 1.5% is what makes loyalty automatic in the room.
- Order Ahead — a collection order at 1.5% counts as a visit with no action from staff.
- Outreach — message the customers a loyalty programme has just identified, rather than everybody.
- Memberships — loyalty rewards the customers you have; a membership at 8% charges the ones who want more.
- Vouchers and promotions — both apply at checkout alongside loyalty, so a reward does not have to be the only reason to come in.
Questions
Common questions
What does a loyalty programme cost?
Nothing to run. Mosey takes 1% on the spend a programme rewards, capped at €150.00 of commission per venue per month, and 0.4% on rewarded spend above that. There is no programme fee and no per-member charge.
Is loyalty free on the free tier?
Yes. Loyalty is free on every tier including free, with no subscription required.
What kinds of programme can I run?
Two: spend-based, where a customer earns after spending a set amount, and frequency-based, where they earn after a number of visits in a period. Pick the one that matches how your customers buy.
How is a visit recorded?
Automatically when the customer pays through Mosey — in store with Mosey Pay, or on a completed Order Ahead or delivery order. Staff can also add a visit by hand for a customer who paid another way.
Do I need a card or an app for staff to operate?
No. There is nothing to stamp and nothing for staff to open. The payment is the visit.
Do I keep my customer data?
Yes. You see your regulars, their spend, their visit frequency and what they order, and you can message them through Outreach. The relationship stays yours.
Can a customer earn across my locations?
Yes, if you turn it on. It is off by default because some chains prefer each location to build its own regulars. Enable cross-venue visits on the programme when you want them to pool.
What happens when a reward is about to expire?
The customer is reminded seven days before and again the day before. Most unredeemed rewards are forgetting rather than deciding.
Is there a limit on how many visits I can record?
There is a fair-use ceiling of 1,000 visits per venue per month. Past it the programme keeps working normally, nothing is throttled and nothing is billed automatically.
Do I need Stripe connected?
Yes. Loyalty is tied to payments taken through Mosey, so a connected Stripe account is required before a programme can go live.
